Terms and Conditions
1. Demonstration Classes - Individuals and Groups
Booking
- Individuals may book classes over internet, phone, by mail (click here for downloadable pdf) Payment is accepted by cheque or money order made payable to Latasha's Kitchen or in person.
- Payment must be made at the time of booking to confirm the enrolment unless you are using a gift voucher.
- No written confirmation of bookings are sent, however, if you make bookings by internet, you will receive an acknowledgement.
- If you want to reserve a class solely for a group of friends, the minimum number of participants is two (2).
Cancellations/Transfers
- Once paid for, cancellations are not refundable.
- You can transfer to another class subject to a place being available or you may nominate a friend to attend in your place.
- A transfer must be done with at least seven (7) days notice.
- You may incur a transfer fee of $10.
2. Demonstration Classes - Corporate
Booking
- A minimum of 12 participants to a maximum of 15 is required for a Corporate booking.
- A fee of 20% is required at the time of booking and full payment is required four weeks before date of class.
- If the date of the booked class is to be subsequently changed, the transfer must be requested at least two (2) weeks before the scheduled class and a 20% transfer fee will be charged.
- Should the booking be cancelled a cancellation fee will be charged as follows:
- 20% if at least 4 weeks notice is given before the class;
- 50% if notice is given between 4 weeks and up to 2 weeks before the class;
- No refund shall be made for cancellations under 2 weeks before the class.

3. Hands On Series Classes
- These classes are for smaller groups of 2 to a maximum of 8 and are scheduled according to ability and capability of participants.
- Classes will be run over a:
- minimum of 2 weeks for the accomplished cook; - four (4) weeks for the versatile cook; or - a 3-part series of 6 weekly sessions per series for beginners.
- This series is discounted when paid in full for the three (3) parts and given the courses are a continuation, no substitute is allowed if a participant cannot make it to a session. The participant will not be given a refund.
- Each lesson in the Hands-on series classes will run for 4 hours.
4. Cancellations by Latasha’s Kitchen
Latasha’s Kitchen reserves the right to cancel a scheduled class for any reason without notice. This, if it happens, would be a rare event and participants would be given the option of: i) transferring to another class at no cost, ii) getting a voucher for the same amount or iii) receiving a full refund.
5. Lay-By for Online Store
- Lay-By is accepted on fully priced products (excluding gift vouchers and cooking classes) with a 20% deposit and completion of payment within 8 weeks from date of deposit.
- Lay-By is accepted on sale items with a 50% deposit and completion of payment within 4 weeks of date of deposit
- Do choose carefully. We don’t normally give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong selection. We do not give refunds in cash, however a credit in the form of a gift voucher is issued if the goods are faulty, wrongly described, different from a sample shown to you or don’t do what they are supposed to.
- Please retain your receipt for proof of purchase.
6. Privacy & Confidentiality
Latasha’s Kitchen takes your privacy seriously and our privacy policy conforms to Information Privacy Principles under the prevailing Privacy Act 1988. We collect information as permitted for lawful purposes directly related to the functions of Latasha’s Kitchen.
Information that we collect will not be disclosed to any individual or organisation without your consent unless the disclosure is required by law.
7. Safety & Legal
Participants in the cooking classes should be aware that their participation may involve the use of various cooking equipment including knives and other implements in a kitchen setting.
The participant is responsible for any liability for any damages and/ or injuries incurred in connection with the participant’s attendance at a cooking class at Latasha’s Kitchen. In this regard, the participant expressly releases Latasha’s Place Pty Ltd from liability of any kind for any damages and/ or injuries incurred while on the premises for a cooking class.
8. Consumption of Alcohol
The consumption of alcohol is not permitted before and during cooking classes, however, consumption of BYO alcohol is allowed after the classes. Participants should always keep in mind the laws relating to drinking and driving and consume only moderately.
